Terms and conditions.
Last updated: 17 October 2026
These terms cover the website design and development service offered by Jey Studio. I've written them in plain English so you know exactly what you get, what you pay and what happens in every case. An Italian version is also available.
1. Who I am
Jey Studio is the name under which I provide web design and development services as a self-employed individual resident in Italy. My full identification details are available on request to anyone purchasing the service and appear on the receipt if you ask for one. Email: jeywebstudio@gmail.com · WhatsApp: +39 351 792 0953.
2. The service
I design and build custom websites: business websites, landing pages, online shops and redesigns. The exact scope of each project is described in your proposal; it usually includes:
- research into your business and your online presence;
- design and development of the website, designed for phones first and then for desktop;
- registration of a domain for the first year, or connection of a domain you already own;
- publication on a hosting service, with no monthly fees for you;
- technical setup and basic SEO;
- links to WhatsApp, email, Google Maps and social media.
Additional features (for example online payments, members' areas, extra languages or integrations with external services) are agreed in writing in the proposal before work starts.
3. Preview and proposal
After receiving your request I study your business and send you a written proposal: what's included, the price, payment terms and timing, usually together with a preview of your new website. The proposal and the preview are free and carry no obligation. The preview shows the direction of the project: it isn't the final website, it isn't published on your domain and it remains my property until you decide to go ahead.
4. Price and payment
The price is the one stated in the written proposal you receive before work starts, and it is a final amount: VAT is not charged on this service. Unless the proposal says otherwise, payment is split into two parts:
- a deposit, once you've approved the preview, to confirm the order and start the work;
- the balance, only when the website is live and you've approved it.
Payments are made by bank transfer in euros, using the details in the payment request. When the price is agreed in pounds sterling, the payment request states the exact amount to send in euros, which you can send from any bank or app such as Revolut, Monzo, Starling or Wise. Any fees charged by your bank or payment app are your responsibility. You receive a confirmation for every payment, and a receipt on request.
5. Timing and material
I usually reply to requests within 24 hours, and the preview arrives within a few days. Delivery times are stated in the proposal. They also depend on how quickly you send me your material (copy, photos, opening hours, information): I always tell you in advance what I need.
6. Revisions and approval
Before launch I show you the complete website and we refine it together: changes to copy, photos, colours and sections are included, within the agreed scope. The website goes live when you confirm you're happy with it; the balance is due from that moment.
7. Domain and hosting
Unless the proposal says otherwise, the domain is included for the first year. From the second year the only cost is the renewal at the registrar's rates (usually around £15–20 or €15–20 a year): I'll remind you before it's due and you decide whether to renew. Hosting carries no monthly fees for you. The website is hosted by reliable third-party providers; I can't guarantee the absence of outages caused by them, but I'll step in to solve any technical problem.
8. Support and changes after launch
- Small changes and technical support: free, with no time limit. For example new opening hours, a price, a piece of copy, a photo, a review, or fixing a technical problem.
- Bigger work, such as a new page or section, is quoted separately and always agreed with you before I start. You decide whether to go ahead.
- There are no subscriptions, monthly fees or maintenance costs.
9. Content and ownership
The copy, photos, logos and trademarks you provide remain yours: you confirm you hold the rights to them and allow me to use them for your website. Once the balance is paid, you have the right to use the website for your business with no time limit. I may mention the project in my portfolio unless you ask me in writing not to.
10. Refunds and cancellations
- Proposal and preview: free, so there is nothing to refund.
- Cancellation before work starts: if you cancel after paying the deposit but before I've registered the domain and started work on the final website, I refund the full deposit.
- Cancellation after work starts: once work has started, the deposit covers the work done and costs incurred (for example domain registration) and is not refundable. You don't owe the balance and the website is not published.
- Non-delivery: if, for reasons on my side, I don't deliver the complete website within 30 days of receiving your material, you can cancel and receive a full refund of the deposit.
- Balance: you pay it only after approving the website and seeing it live. Once paid it is not refundable, because the service has been completed and accepted.
- If you are a consumer (buying for purposes outside your trade or profession), you have the right to cancel within 14 days of payment. If you ask me to start work before the 14 days are over, an amount proportionate to the work already done is due if you cancel.
To cancel or ask for a refund, write to jeywebstudio@gmail.com or on WhatsApp. Refunds are made by bank transfer within 14 days of the accepted request. Please contact me before raising a dispute with your bank: I'll solve any problem directly.
11. Liability
I build every website with the utmost care and following industry best practice. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you publish (prices, opening hours, professional details, health or legal content). I am not liable for indirect damage, loss of earnings or outages caused by third-party providers (hosting, registrars, payment services, social platforms).
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, this does not affect the mandatory protections of the law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country. In all other cases the competent court is determined according to the Italian Code of Civil Procedure.
